Awesome blog Brad, but I have to correct one item:

Ron Hextall's playoff goal (short-handed, no less) occurred against the Washington Capitals. However, the goal was scored not in 1988 but rather during the following post-season on April 11, 1989. I remember it like it was yesterday.

I also attended the first game in which he scored (against the Bruins). Other than your horrible injury in that game (very scary for us fans), the other bad omen was that my friend who drove, insisted on leaving early to beat traffic. Hence I missed Hexy's goal! I don't speak to that friend anymore!

Great stuff Brad. EJ was very skilled at projecting as is shown in his job as a scout. From what I've read about him, he seemed like a sponge for information, just never could get enough and always tried to use it to his advantage

I can still remember something Gene Hart said during the broadcast of the Game 7 against the Oilers. He said, "My friends, decades from now we will all look back on this series, win or lose, and say THAT was the best playoff series I've ever seen"

How right he was.
